Generali Pilipinas premiums reached P2.1 Billion

Insurer Generali Pilipinas (GP) posted an 18% increase in its third quarter premiums, or a growth of P2.1 Billion from P1.8 Billion registered in 2007. This achievement is credited to the impressive performance of the Company’s three business lines – Individual Life, Group Insurance and Property & Casualty.

Individual Life’s year-to-date (YTD) premiums reached P886 Million. Its Group Insurance business on the other hand, increased to 13% during the third quarter or P528 Million premiums compared with P468 Million last year.

Business from its Property & Casualty recorded a 113% increase or P664 Million from P312 Million total premium income in the same period last year. This significant growth is a combined effort from GP’s multi-distribution channels including Development Underwriters, Bancassurance, Exclusive and Independent Agencies.

“The increase of GP’s premium income is an indication of the collective efforts of our workforce to fulfill our vision to be one of the major industry players in the country. We expect that the last quarter would give us even better revenue and growth,” shared President and CEO Derek Chan.
