Generali Pilipinas appoints Derek Chan as New President & CEO

The Board of Directors of Generali Pilipinas Holding Company, Inc. has appointed Mr. Derek Chan as Director and Treasurer effective July 17, 2008. Mr. Chan was also appointed Director, President and CEO of Generali Pilipinas Insurance Company (GPIC) and Generali Pilipinas Life Assurance Company (GPLAC). He succeeds Daniel T. Daly, who served both companies for four years.

Mr. Chan was previously with AXA (China) Region as the Chief Executive for its Life and Employee Benefits Divisions and as an Executive Director of the Board. Prior to joining GP, he was CEO of AXA Minmetal, a joint venture of AXA and the Minmetal Group in Mainland China.

Mr. Daly, on the other hand, will be moving to Generali Asia to take on a regional role. He will take on a new assignment to spearhead another Life, Property and Casualty insurance joint venture following the BDO / Generali Pilipinas model.
